As part of the overall accountability framework,
the Dairy Adjustment Authority’s operations are
subject to external scrutiny from Parliamentary
Committees, the Commonwealth Ombudsman,
and the Federal Privacy Commissioner.
The Administrative Appeals Tribunal, reviews
decisions of the Authority in relation to the
granting of payment rights. These appeals are
not expected to have a significant impact on
the operations of the Authority.
As part of the scope of the Auditor-General’s
program of Performance Audits for the
department and the Dairy Industry Adjustment
Program, the Australian National Audit Office
(ANAO) sought information from the Dairy
Adjustment Authority.
The Dairy Adjustment Authority's Report of the
Review of the Dairy Adjustment Levy dated
November 2002, was tabled in Parliament in
December 2002.
