The Dairy Adjustment Authority comprises of a Chair, two industry members, a government member, and one other member. Members of the Authority were selected on the basis of their knowledge and experience in the areas of business management, the dairy industry, government policy and public administration. The Remuneration Tribunal determines remuneration.

Chair: Patrick Musgrave

Patrick Musgrave has held senior management positions in the food industry with Nestlé Australia and Arnotts Biscuits Limited. He is a past Director and Acting Chairman of the Australian Meat and Livestock Corporation and is a Director of Meat and Livestock Australia Limited. Patrick Musgrave also chairs the Dairy Adjustment Authority’s Audit Committee.

Industry Member: Jim Forsyth

Jim Forsyth has extensive knowledge of and experience in the dairy industry. He is a former Chairman of NSW Milk Brands Pty Ltd, Milk Distribution Services Pty Ltd and the Market Milk Federation of Australia. He is currently Chairman of a family-owned company, Amalgamated Milk Services Pty Ltd.

Industry Member: Terry O'Callaghan AM

Terry O’Callaghan has extensive dairy industry experience having held executive positions with Kraft Foods Ltd and seventeen years as Administrative Director of United Dairyfarmers of Victoria. He was Secretary of Woolstock Australia Ltd from 1999–2002 and currently is a Director of Farm Plan Pty Ltd and consults to primary industry.

Government Member: Merrilyn McPherson

Merrilyn McPherson has extensive experience in government policy processes and public administration, including formulation of business, industry and commercial policy and program delivery and administration. She holds professional qualifications in company directorship and engineering and has served on a number of professional bodies, including a term as a Director of the National Registration Authority for Agriculture and Veterinary Chemicals. Merrilyn McPherson is also a member of the Dairy Adjustment Authority’s Remuneration Committee.

Independent Member: John Drinan

John Drinan brings extensive experience in the dairy industry having been a former Director and then Chair of the Dairy Research and Development Corporation. He is currently a member of the Australian Animal Health Laboratory Advisory Council, a beef producer and rural consultant. He also Chairs the Dairy Adjustment Authority’s Remuneration Committee.
