The Act
The Dairy Produce Act 1986 (Commonwealth).

Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT)
Independent tribunal to which decisions of the Dairy Adjustment Authority regarding payment right can be appealed.

Anomalous Circumstances Payment Right
Payment right granted to eligible entities who were taken to be affected by anomalous circumstances under the DSAP Scheme.

Australian National Audit Office (ANAO)
Australian Government body who conducts Financial and Performance Audits of Australian Government Public Sector Entities.

Corporate Governance
Structures and processes that the Dairy Adjustment Authority has in place to ensure compliance with statutory and other obligations.

Dairy Adjustment Authority (DAA)
Australian Government Authority charged with the responsibility of administering the Dairy Structural Adjustment Program (DSAP) and the Supplementary Dairy Assistance (SDA).

Dairy Adjustment Levy
The levy based on the sale of leviable milk product to a person who purchases for the resale in Australia where the resale is a retail sale.

Dairy Structural Adjustment Program (DSAP)
Program implemented by the Australian Government and administered by the Dairy Adjustment Authority to grant payment rights to eligible entities.

Deregulation
The removal of Australian Government and State Government price controls over market milk schemes within the Domestic Dairy Industry, and Australian Government regulations covering the Domestic Market Support Scheme.

Discretionary Payment Right
Payment right granted to eligible entities who have been affected by significant events, crises or anomalous circumstances or a significant fall in lease income.

Eligible Dairy Producers (DSAP)
An entity who held an interest at 6:30pm on 28 September 1999 in a dairy farm enterprise that delivered milk in 1998/99.

Exceptional Events Supplementary Payment Right
Supplementary payment right granted to eligible entities under the DSAP Scheme where an exceptional event has caused milk delivery in 1998–99 to be less than 70% of average delivery in the previous 3 years.

Market Milk Payment Right
Additional payment right granted to eligible entities who have been granted payment rights under DSAP Scheme.

Payment Right
A dollar amount granted to an eligible dairy farmer by the Dairy Adjustment Authority.

Quarterly Payment
Payment made by the Dairy Adjustment Authority to Unitholders. Payments are made quarterly throughout the year in January, April, July and October. Around the tenth (10th) business day of each quarter the payments are credited to Unitholders’ bank accounts.

Standard Payment Right
Payment right granted to eligible entities (under DSAP) based on the milk production of the entity's enterprise in 1998/99.

Supplementary Dairy Assistance (SDA)
A second program implemented by the Australian Government and administered by the Dairy Adjustment Authority to grant market milk payment rights and discretionary payment rights to eligible entities.

The Register
The register of Units is maintained by the Dairy Adjustment Authority and records details of Units allocated to entities under DSAP and SDA Schemes.
