The Dairy Adjustment Authority as a public sector agency acted to ensure that each
claim for payment was carefully considered on its merits. The Authority also promotes excellence in its work and expects its people to be guided by its code of conduct and values. The Authority members are bound by the code of conduct in the same way as employees and have an additional duty to promote the Dairy Adjustment Authority values.

In summary, the code of conduct requires:

  • Impartiality
    • behaving in a way that is in the public interest and does not prejudice the outcomes of the Dairy Adjustment Authority objectives; disclosing any conflict of interest;
  • Legality
    • acting lawfully and with care and diligence; and
  • Confidentiality
    • not disclosing official information, inside information, or providing false or misleading information; protecting the privacy rights of individuals.

The Dairy Adjustment Authority values are: professionalism, integrity, openness, fairness and respect.
