Appeal mechanisms

Dairy producers have two levels of appeal against decisions from the Dairy Adjustment Authority concerning their entitlement. In the first instance, they have the opportunity to seek internal review, after which the Authority will confirm or vary its original decision. If the dairy producer is still dissatisfied with the result, they may appeal further to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. At 30 June, there were 65 individual applications (representing 37 enterprises) to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and no cases had progressed to hearing.
